1. Admit that you have a need.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3:23

2. Believe that Jesus is God, the Son, who paid the wages of your sin.

For the wages of sin is death [eternal separation from God]; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23

3. Call upon God.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Lakota Sioux Indian representatives declared sovereign nation status Wednesday in Washington D.C. following Monday’s withdrawal from all previously signed treaties with the United States Government

Lakotafreedom.com

For more than a year and a half prior to this December announcement, Lakota delegates have been meeting with the traditional treaty councils of Lakota to build critical mass for this action.

In the face of the colonial apartheid conditions imposed on Lakota people, the withdrawal from the U.S. Treaties is necessary. These conditions have been devastating:

* Lakota men have a life expectancy of less than 44 years, lowest of any country in the World (excluding AIDS) including Haiti.
* Lakota death rate is the highest in the United States.
* The Lakota infant mortality rate is 300% more than the U.S. Average.
* More than half the Reservation's adults battle addiction and disease.
* The Tuberculosis rate on Lakota reservations is approx 800% higher than the U.S national average.
* Alcoholism affects 8 in 10 families.
* Median income is approximately $2,600 to $3,500 per year.
* 1/3 of the homes lack basic clean water and sewage while 40% lack electricty.
* 60% of housing is infected with potentially fatal black molds.
* DADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADADA.
* 97% of our Lakota people live below the poverty line.
* Unemployment rates on our reservations is 85% or higher.
* Federal Commodity Food Program provides high sugar foods that kill Native people through diabetes and heart disease.
* Teenage suicide rate is 150% higher than the U.S national average for this group.
* Our Lakota language is an Endangered Language, on the verge of extinction.

After 150 years of colonial enforcement, when you back people into a corner there is only one alternative. That alternative is to bring freedom back into existence by taking it back - back to the love of freedom, to our lifeway.

We got to the theatre just as the doors were opening. The line breathed a collective sigh, relieved to be getting in out of the night breeze. My friends and I rushed to the ticket window, flashed expired student id cards, and got 4 tickets for the event we’d been talking about for weeks. We got in the line to get in the door and as we looked ahead we saw the advertising banner: Tonight was opening night for the local college theatre group was putting on: Suessical, the Musical.

I’ve long been a fan of Dr. Suess. When I heard that a collection of his books had been turned into a musical, I was excited… When I heard that it was to play in my neighborhood, I was elated!

As we took our seats we noticed an incredibly age-diverse crowd. Toddlers, the elderly and everyone in between came out to see Suess performed in live action on a stage before them… superb actors, puppets, lighting effects, an incredible set and fantastic costumes made the familiar characters of Horton, Yertle and more come vibrantly to life in a psychedelic salute to the books that inspired them.

Intermission came, our crew, due for a smoke break, made our way back to the car. Fearing typical lagging, we took care of business and promptly returned to the theatre to find that we still had more than half of the intermission left. 2 of our party took their seats while Sean and I went in search of the bathroom.

We wandered the halls looking for a few minutes before I spied the familiar blue triangle and generic ‘man’ silhouette on a door. I moved straight for it, worming my way through the crowd, as I slid past him, I sent a manly grunt and head-nod towards Sean, obviously indicating that I had acquired my prey.

Through the hall, 2 other men opened the moved towards the door, both around 20, both looked fairly ‘straight-laced’. I got to the door first, and as I opened it, was glad that it was a large bathroom, not a one-seater. However, whatever joy I felt in knowing I wasn’t holding anyone up from peeing, quickly passed as I took my second step into the room. One of the 2 strangers was behind me, his friend behind him, Sean still back in the hall.

It hit the other guys as soon as it hit me. All three of us knocked our heads backed in unison.

“Ugggg!” I moaned, “Someone was NOT fucking around in here,eh?” I broke the taboo… I spoke to strange men while in a public bathroom… but the preternatural stench was calling for an serious response.

I did it, I crossed the boundry, I talked… I had to.

This came as we were in mid-ritual, each individual picking a toilet quickly and with the normal zero-sound/zero-eye contact which is the unwritten (as far as I know) law of Mens’ Rooms throughout society.

A moment of silence… I thought the odor had brought us together… I thought that such a foul smell would have created a bond between me and these men that put our relationship in the next level… was I wrong?

The silence broke with a snicker; Jackpot!

The other one, moving for the single stall, opened the door and gasped, “awww… someone dropped a deuce in here.”

We all laughed briefly, then returned the silence. I stared straight ahead at the wall as I peed into the urinal. Then, Sean came in.

“WhoA MOLLY!!” he shouted.

Hahahah… laughter from the whole room.

“That’s what I call a Three-Day Release” Sean follows right on the tail of his first joke.

The laughter gets more intense.

He shoots off two or three more, the response getting more and more boisterous each time.

I’m trying to focus so I can control the stream of urine, laughing in near hysterics… and it hits me…

I’m standing around with strangers, huge smile on my face, my cock in hand – jiggling uncontrollably with laughter. It was a new experience to say the least.

I reflected on sexuality...

I think I’ll just be quiet in public bathrooms.
''The absurd holds no terror for me''

The Reno Artist's show for Reno's Artists by people who know what Reno is all about; this is the theme. The show will be the last three days of June, climaxing June 30. We have reserved at least ten rooms at the El Cortez Hotel on 2nd st. for morning and afternoon activities, the Historic Trocadero Room downstairs at the El Cortez for evening performances and a Coalition of venues including Abby's Highway Forty, the Reno Jazz Club, Davidsons Distillery and the Dream Center/Studio Fourth at 4th and Valley for all night celebrations of Reno's unlimited potential for absurdity. Rooms at the El Cortez are 149.95 for the week. More venues will be added as demand increases.
All artists are literally independent, and will sign a disorganization and self-responsibility agreement. You can have personal sponsors and handle your own sales but this is a privately funded project. Artists are encouraged to collaborate and even share venues. A map with venues and times will be published. Deadline is June 1st
We need interested artists to get on board. Dancers, fire spinners, Actors, Visual Artists of any type, light artists, heavy artists, little artists, hypotemporary artists, Artists with something to say and artists with nada, Artists with no commercial potential, Architects, Poets, Sculptors, Con Artists and Musicians for performances that you'll say, "I may never get a chance to play a song that goes like this again"; Opaque melodies that would bug most people. Got a "Reno quia absurdum" idea? Let us know. We are seeking Artists with things we can learn and works that haven't been seen before. It is all about art and all about us.
This show will feature functional, old school anarchy at work. Although in common parlance, anarchy may refer to the breakdown of order following the collapse of a state, the term, as used in this application does not imply nihilism, anomie or the total absence of rules, but rather an anti-authoritarian society that is based on the spontaneous order of free individuals in autonomous communities, operating on principles of mutual aid, voluntary association, and direct action. Anarchists are those who believe that all people are imbued with a sort of commonality, or common sense, that would allow for people to, in the absence of the government, come together in agreement to form a functional existence. Morality falls in line with functionality, and its forms differ. Anarchy does not reject ethics, or principles, but rather imposed morality.
''To live outside the law you must be honest.''
So Rise Up, Come Out from under your little rocks, and March!
From Cabaret Voltaire - Issue 1
- Hugo Ball

When I founded the Cavaret Voltaire, I was sure that there must be a few young people in Switzerland who like me were interested not only in enjoying their independence but also in giving proof of it. I went to Herr Ephraim, the owner of the Meierei, and said, "Herr Ephraim, please let me have your room. I want to start a night-club." Herr Ephraim agreed and gave me the room. And I went to some people I knew and said, "Please give me a picture, or a drawing, or an engraving. I should like to put on an exhibition in my night-club." I went to the friendly Zürich press and said, "Put in some announcements. There is going to be an international cabaret. We shall do great things." And they gave me pictures and they put in my annoucements. So on 5th February we had a cabaret. Mademoiselle Hennings and Mademoiselle Leconte sang French and Danish chansons. Herr Tristan Tzara recited Rumanian poetry. A balalaika orchestra played delightful folk-songs and dances.

I received much support and encouragement from Herr M. Slodki, who designed the poster, and from Herr Hans Arp, who supplied some Picassos, as well as works of his own, and obtained for me pictures by his friends O. van Rees and Artur Segall. Much support also from Messrs. Tristan Tzara, Marcel Janco and Max Oppenheimer, who readily agreed to take part in the cabaret. We organized a Russian evening and, a little later, a French one (works by Apollinaire, Max Jacob, André Salmon, A. Jarry, Laforgue and Rimbaud). On 26th February Richard Huelsenbeck arrived from Berlin and on 30th March we performed some stupendous Negro music (toujours avec la grosse caisse: boum boum boum boum - drabatja mo gere drabatja mo bonooooooooo -). Monsieur Laban was present at the performance and was very enthusiastic. Herr Tristan Tzara was the initiator of a performance by Messrs. Tzara, Huelsenbeck and Janco (the first in Zürich and in the world) of simultaneist verse by Messrs. Henri Barzun and Fernand Divoire, as well as a poème simultané of his own composition, which is reproduced on pages six and seven. The persent booklet is published by us with the support of our friends in France, Italy and Russia. It is intended to present to the Public the activities and interests of the Cabaret Voltaire, which has as its sole purpose to draw attention, across the barriers of war and nationalism, to the few independent spirits who live for other ideals. The next objective of the artists who are assembled here is the publication of a revue internationale. La revue paraîtra à Zurich et portera le nom "Dada" ("Dada"). Dada Dada Dada Dada.
I'm working on a project that requires several hundred audio cassette tapes (yes, those clunky objects that held our music in the days before iPods, CDs and .mp3 players).

I know a lot of people have a stash of old tapes in a box in the basement that they've forgotten about. Why not get rid of the tapes and donate 'em to a good cause?! I will recycle the tapes (via true recycling, not downcycling) and use them as part of my upcoming album.
The Cubists want to cover Dada with snow; it may surprise you, but it is so, they want to empty the snow out of their pipe on to Dada.
Are you sure?
Perfectly, the facts speak for themselves from great grotesque mouths. They think that Dada wants to stop them in their hateful trade: selling pictures at a high price.
Art is dearer than sausages, dearer than women, dearer than anything.
Art is as easy to see as God (see Saint-Sulpice).
Art is a pharmaceutical product for idiots.
Tables turn, thanks to the spirits; pictures and other works of art are like strong- box-tables, the spirit is within them and gets more and more inspired as the prices rise in the salerooms.
Comedy, comedy, comedy, comedy, comedy, dear friends.
Dealers do not like painting, they know about the hidden spirit....
Buy reproductions of signed pictures.
Don't be snobbish; having the same picture as your neighbour doesn't make you any less intelligent. No more fly-specks on the walls.
There will be some, all the same, but not quite so many.
"Dada will certainly get more and more hated, for its wire-cutters allow it to cut processions singing " Come Darling ", what a sacrilege!

Cubism represents total famine in ideas.

They cubed primitive paintings, cubed Negro sculptures, cubed violins, cubed guitars, cubed picture magazines, cubed shit and girls' profiles and now they want to cube money!!!

Dada, on the other hand, wants nothing, absolutely nothing, and what it does is to make the public say

"We understand nothing, nothing, nothing ".

"The Dadaists are nothing, nothing, nothing and they will surely succeed in nothing, nothing, nothing."

Below is a copy of a letter that won a competition in UK as complaint letter of the year...have a laugh and read on.
Complaint Letter of the Year. The British do have a way with words.... A real-life customer complaint
letter sent to NTL (to their complaints dept....)

Dear Cretins,
I have been an NTL customer since 9th July 2001, when I signed up for
your 3-in-one deal for cable TV, cable modem, and telephone. During this
three-month period I have encountered inadequacy of service which I had not previously considered possible, as well as ignorance and stupidity of monolithic proportions. Please allow me to provide specific details,so that you can either pursue your professional perogative, and seek to rectify these difficulties - or more likely (I suspect) so that you can
have some entertaining reading material as you while away the working
day smoking B&H and drinking vendor-coffee on the bog in your office:
My initial installation was cancelled without warning, resulting in my
spending an entire Saturday sitting on my fat arse waiting for your
technician to arrive. When he did not arrive, I spent a further 57
minutes listening to your infuriating hold music, and the even more
annoying Scottish robot woman telling me to look at your helpful
website....HOW? I alleviated the boredom by playing with my testicles for a few minutes
- an activity at which you are no-doubt both familiar and highly adept.
The rescheduled installation then took place some two weeks later,
although the technician did forget to bring a number of vital tools -
such as a drill-bit, and his cerebrum. Two weeks later, my cable modem
had still not arrived. After 15 telephone calls over 4 weeks my modem
arrived... six weeks after I had requested it, and begun to pay for it.

I estimate your internet server's downtime is roughly 35%... hours
between about 6pm -midnight, Mon-Fri, and most of the weekend. I am
still waiting for my telephone connection. I have made 9 calls on my
mobile to your no-help line, and have been unhelpfully transferred to a
variety of disinterested individuals, who are it seems also highly
skilled bollock jugglers.
I have been informed that a telephone line is available (and someone
will call me back); that no telephone line is available (and someone
will call me back); that I will be transferred to someone who knows
whether or not a telephone line is available (and then been cut off);
that I will be transferred to someone (and then been redirected to an
answer machine informing me that your office is closed); that I will be
transferred to someone and then been redirected to the irritating
Scottish robot woman...and several other variations on this theme.
Doubtless you are no longer reading this letter, as you have at least a
thousand other dissatisfied customers to ignore, and also another one of
those crucially important testicle-moments to attend to. Frankly I don't
care, it's far more satisfying as a customer to voice my frustration's
in print than to shout them at your unending hold music. Forgive me,
therefore, if I continue.
I thought BT were shit, that they had attained the holy piss-pot of godawful customer relations, that no-one, anywhere, ever, could be more
disinterested, less helpful or more obstructive to delivering service to
their customers. That's why I chose NTL, and because, well, there isn't
anyone else is there? How surprised I therefore was, when I discovered
to my considerable dissatisfaction and disappointment what a useless
shower of bastards you truly are. You are sputum-filled pieces of
distended rectum incompetents of the highest order.
British Telecom - wankers though they are - shine like brilliant beacons
of success, in the filthy puss-filled mire of your seemingly limitless
inadequacy. Suffice to say that I have now given up on my futile and
foolhardy quest to receive any kind of service from you. I suggest that
you cease any potential future attempts to extort payment from me for
the services which you have so pointedly and catastrophically failed to
deliver - any such activity will be greeted initially with hilarity and
disbelief quickly be replaced by derision, and even perhaps bemused
rage. I enclose two small deposits, selected with great care from my
cats litter tray, as an _expression of my utter and complete contempt for
both you and your pointless company. I sincerely hope that they have not
become desiccated during transit - they were satisfyingly moist at the
time of posting, and I would feel considerable disappointment if you did
not experience both their rich aroma and delicate texture. Consider them
the very embodiment of my feelings towards NTL, and its worthless
employees.
Have a nice day - may it be the last in you miserable short life, you
irritatingly incompetent and infuriatingly unhelpful bunch of twats.
John

From Associated Press
January 06, 2006 9:46 AM EST
PARIS - A 76-year-old performance artist was arrested after attacking Marcel Duchamp's "Fountain" - a porcelain urinal - with a hammer, police said.

Duchamp's 1917 piece - an ordinary white, porcelain urinal that's been called one of the most influential works of modern art - was slightly chipped in the attack at the Pompidou Center in Paris, the museum said Thursday. It was removed from the exhibit for repair.

The suspect, a Provence resident whose identity was not released, already vandalized the work in 1993 - urinating into the piece when it was on display in Nimes, in southern France, police said.

During questioning, the man claimed his hammer attack on Wednesday was a work of performance art that might have pleased Dada artists. The early 20th-century avant-garde movement was the focus of the exhibit that ends Monday, police said.

A 2004 poll of 500 arts figures ranked "Fountain" as the most influential work of modern art - ahead of Pablo Picasso's "Les Demoiselles d'Avignon," Andy Warhol's screen prints of Marilyn Monroe and "Guernica," Picasso's depiction of war's devastation.

"Fountain" is estimated at $3.6 million.

"Highberger said he wanted to do something to spice up the end-of-the-year meeting that usually is about five minutes worth of bill-paying and otherwise routine tasks. Plus, the mayor — who dabbles as an artist — said he thought there was value in reminding people that 'reason and anti-reason, sense and nonsense, design and chance, consciousness and unconsciousness, belong together as necessary parts of a whole.' In that spirit, instead of choosing a particular month to designate as International Dadaism Month, Highberger chose Feb. 4, March 28, April 1, July 15, Aug. 2, Aug. 7, Aug. 16, Aug. 26, Sept. 18, Sept. 22, Oct. 1, Oct. 17 and Oct. 26. He chose the dates by rolling dice and picking numbers out of a hat."
"How does one achieve eternal bliss? By saying dada. How does one become famous? By saying dada. With a noble gesture and delicate propriety. Till one goes crazy. Till one loses consciousness. How can one get rid of everything that smacks of journalism, worms, everything nice and right, blinkered, moralistic, europeanized, enervated? By saying dada. Dada is the world soul, dada is the pawnshop. Dada is the world's best lily-milk soap. Dada Mr. Rubiner, dada Mr. Korrodi. Dada Mr. Anastasius Lilienstein. In plain language: the hospitality of the Swiss is something to be profoundly appreciated. And in questions of aesthetics the key is quality."

To launch a manifesto you have to want: A. B. & C., and fulminate against 1, 2, & 3, and maintain that novelty resembles life in the same way as the latest apparition of a harlot proves the essence of God. His existence had already been proved by the accordion, the landscape and soft words.

Everyone does it [imposes one's A. B. & C.] in the form of a crystal bluff-madonna, or a monetary system, or pharmaceutical preparations, a naked leg being the invitation to an ardent and sterile Spring.

...the love of novelty is a pleasant sort of cross impulsive and vibrant to crucify boredom.

I'm writing this manifesto to show that you can perform contrary actions at the same time, in one single, fresh breath; I am against action; as for continual contradiction, and affirmation too, I am neither for nor against them, and I won't explain myself because I hate common sense.

DADA DOES NOT MEAN ANYTHING

...on the other hand, there are: the new men. Uncouth, galloping, riding astride on hiccups.

Psychoanalyses is a dangerous disease, it deadens man's anti-real inclinations and systematizes the bourgeoisie. There is no ultimate Truth.

I hate slimy objectivity, and harmony, the science that considers that everything is always in order. Carry on children, humanity ... Science says that we are nature's servants: everything is in order, make both love and war. Carry on, children, humanity, nice kind bourgeois and virgin journalists...

I am against systems; the most acceptable system is that of having none on no principle.

Art is a private thing, the artist makes it for himself; a comprehensible work is the product of a journalist...

What we need are strong, straightforward, precise works which will be forever misunderstood. Logic is a complication. Logic is always false.

The Dada Manifesto was written in 1918 by Tristan Tzara, whose group Dada (as well as the Dada Movement) was later abandoned for the Surrealist Movement.
My mom and i came up with the idea of having a dada party in our garden in late august/ early september. At first, it seemed to be a great idea. I had just read Alfred Jarry and mom wanted to dress up as king Ubu. So far, so good.
But the big question is: what IS a dada party? We'd like to include art, but since dada is not art... ah!
Any suggestions what a dada party might be?
